Postnord delayed with early votes in Stockholm

Postnord is several hours late in delivering the early votes in Stockholm. Something that Expressen was the first to report on.

Votes that were to be delivered at 08 this morning are expected to be delivered only at lunchtime.

- We are experiencing very high pressure. It is great that the Swedes have voted early, but it means that we have seen very high pressure and then there are easy delays, says Postnord's press manager Anders Porelius.

3.6 million people have voted early this year, which is a record number. The large number of early votes has made it more difficult for Postnord to succeed in delivering them on time.

The recipients of the vote will have some time

At the moment, it is only about votes in the Stockholm area, says Anders Porelius.

- We are working as fast as we can to speed this up, but it is a security issue, he says.

The electoral authority confirms that the votes are delayed. Jenny Stad, press officer at the authority, says that the delay means that the vote recipients have less time to review the votes before they are placed in the ballot box.
