Punjab Kings opener Prabhsimran Singh has responded to growing criticism on social media following the team’s four consecutive defeats in IPL 2026, backing the stance taken by franchise co-owner Preity Zinta against misinformation.

After enjoying a seven-match unbeaten streak, Punjab Kings have dramatically collapsed, losing four games in a row, putting their playoff hopes under pressure.

Prabhsimran, who remains the team’s second-highest run-scorer with 382 runs at an average of 42.44, posted an Instagram story with a picture of his physique and a “shushing” emoji, interpreted as a response to critics questioning his fitness and form.

Earlier, Preity Zinta criticised the spread of “fake narratives” around the team, urging responsible reporting. The franchise also issued a statement seeking fact verification before sharing information.

Punjab Kings now face a crucial match against already-eliminated Mumbai Indians in Dharamshala, a must-win to revive their playoff bid amidst a tense race.
