Rome hosts the first drone competition with civilian and military pilots

The first drone competition with civilian and military pilots will take place in Rome on 19 and 20 September.

The event, entitled 'Army 1659 Drone Challenge, precision meets speed', will be held at the Pietro Giannattasio Military Hippodrome in Tor di Quinto. This is the fourth stage of the national Drone Challenge championship, the sporting event organized by Difesa Servizi and the Italian Army. Open to the public and with free admission, it will offer visitors the opportunity to witness the evolution of drones and visit the Drone Village with flight simulators and live experiences, technologies on display, Military Fitness and a climbing wall, as well as the launch of the paratroopers of the parachuting section of the Army Olympic Sports Centre, performances by the Italian Army Band and live music.
