Sadie Sink and Adam Driver are confirmed in the cast of the new X-Men film

Director Jake Schreier took the stage alongside Sadie Sink, who will play Jean Grey. The actress was the first cast member officially introduced during the event.

"It's wonderful to be here and finally be able to talk about this character after months of speculation," Sink told the audience before introducing the other members of the group.

The big surprise of the presentation was until the end. In a video appearance, Adam Driver revealed that he will play Nathaniel Milbury, an identity associated with Mr. Sinister, one of the main antagonists of the X-Men in the comics.

The actor also joked about the character he will play by saying that he would be "waiting for everyone to arrive" at Pinewood studios.

Driver's choice also ends, at least officially, the speculation that pointed to Brazilian Wagner Moura as one of the favorites to play the villain. The actor's name circulated heavily on social media during the rumor period, but he is not part of the cast announced by Marvel.

According to Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, the cast presented at D23 represents only the first group of actors confirmed for the film.
