Schoolboy with top grades linked to extremist network

When SVT contacts people close to him, he is described as intelligent but lonely. The boy graduated from primary school with top grades.

- He never participated in lessons and always sat with headphones and watched anime or listened to music. Still, he got A's in just about every subject.

- He was mostly to himself. But he was not shy and he stood by his opinions, says another person.

- He was very good at school but chose to be more alone than with classmates. A lot of people tried to get him to hang out with friends at school but he never fully latched on, says a third person.

SVT's investigation may connect the boy to an alias that was active in the extremist online environment True Crime Community (TCC), a subculture that revolves around an obsession with acts of violence and former murderers.

One of the accounts that SVT has reviewed was in a chat group connected to the misogynistic incel environment. Another account expresses recurring racist and neo-Nazi values.

A Tiktok user with the same alias was in contact with Liam Nebel's suspected online persona on several occasions in the months before the crime.

The boy's lawyer does not want to comment on SVT's review.
