MUSSOORIE: A 27-year-old software engineer from Delhi was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a homestay on the Mussoorie-Dhanolti road on Monday morning. She had checked in with her husband on Saturday night. P Radha Gayatri was a resident of Kidwai Nagar in Delhi and worked for a tech firm in Gurgaon, according to the police. Her husband, Soumya Shricharan, is also a techie and is based in Pune. The couple had married on Nov 8, 2025, and their families originally hail from Visakhapatnam. Police received an emergency call around 7.30am on Monday, informing them that a female guest was unconscious. A police team, along with medical personnel, rushed to the spot and found Gayatri dead. Devendra Chauhan, station officer (SO) of Mussoorie police station, said, “The victim was found lying naked on the floor, and there was blood on the bedsheet. We also recovered two empty liquor bottles from the room.” The husband told the police that they had consumed alcohol and went to sleep around 3.30am. He claimed that upon waking up, he found his wife unconscious and bleeding from her nose. When approached by the media, Shricharan refused to comment. According to the police, the couple had traveled from Delhi to Rishikesh on May 13 before arriving at the Mussoorie homestay around 11.30pm on Saturday. Investigators are treating the death with caution.
