Sudanese Army shot down AKINCI TİHA and RSF's CH-95 UAV

Sudanese Army's AKINCI TİHA shot down the RSF forces' Chinese-made CH-95 UAV using the ROKETSAN-produced EREN missile.

While the clashes between army forces and Rapid Support Forces (RSF) continue in Sudan, a new operation involving unmanned aerial vehicles was carried out. According to the information obtained from the field and conveyed by the defense news platform SavunmaSanayiST, the Turkish-made Bayraktar AKINCI Attack Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (TİHA), which is in the inventory of the Sudanese Army, detected and intercepted an armed UAV belonging to the RSF forces in the air.

In the operation, the Chinese-made CH-95 armed unmanned aerial vehicle used by RSF forces supported by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was shot down in the air. The laser-guided EREN missile, fired from AKINCI TİHA and produced by ROKETSAN, was used to detect and destroy the target.

The EREN missile, which was originally developed to be used against rotary wing aircraft, micro and mini class unmanned aerial vehicles, light armored vehicles and ground targets, was seen to perform an air-to-air mission against a moving air target with this operation.

In Sudan, where internal conflicts have been ongoing for a long time, regular army forces mainly use Turkish-made unmanned systems in their air elements. It is known that RSF elements on the opposing front are supplying Chinese-origin systems and military equipment via the UAE.
