A second wave operation was carried out within the scope of the investigation launched against Süleymancılar by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
While detention orders were issued for 13 people within the scope of the investigation; 12 people were detained in operations held in Istanbul, Konya, Mersin and Muğla.
STATEMENT FROM THE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE
In the statement made by Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the following was noted:
"Following the first wave operation carried out on August 13, 2026, the second wave operation was carried out in line with the new evidence and findings obtained by deepening the investigation. Within the scope of the studies carried out in Istanbul, Konya, Mersin and Muğla, action was taken against 13 suspects and 12 suspects were caught. Efforts to capture 1 suspect are continuing."

WHAT HAPPENED?
Within the scope of the investigation carried out by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, an operation was carried out in 17 provinces against the structure known to the public as Süleymancılar on August 13. Among the detained suspects, 32 people, including Alihan Kuriş, the leader of Süleymancılar, were arrested, and a judicial control order was issued for 6 people.
Within the scope of the operation, 200 kilograms of gold bullion worth 1.34 billion TL of unknown origin was found at the address during the search for fugitive Hilmi Tuna Kuriş, brother of detained Alihan Kuriş, and the images were reflected in the press. In his statement, Alihan Kuriş said that the gold in question was jewelry left over from the wedding.
On the other hand, during the operation in Muğla yesterday, Hilmi Tuna Kuriş, the fugitive brother of Süleymancılar leader Alihan Kuriş, and Erhan Yılmaz were caught in Marmaris while they were making preparations to escape abroad.
The vehicle that took Hilmi Tuna Kuriş and Erhan Yılmaz to Muğla was allocated to former Minister of Internal Affairs İdris Naim Şahin.
