Storms and floods in Indiana: at least six dead and state of emergency

At least six people have been killed in heavy storms and floods that hit Indiana. Among the victims was also a 4-year-old child. The state authorities provided the toll of the heavy storms that hit the state starting from Tuesday 11th. According to the Indiana State Emergency Operations Center, in addition to the child, the other victims were three women and two men. The deaths reportedly occurred in Delaware (two victims), Jennings, Lake, Porter and LaPorte counties.

State of emergency requested

Gov. Mike Braun said he received assurances from President Donald Trump that the request for a state of emergency would be approved, giving the green light for federal aid. The storm that moved through the states of Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky left at least 1 million customers without electricity. Another victim was reported in Ohio, state Governor Mike DeWine said Tuesday.
