When are the Emmys?

The 78th Annual Primetime Emmys will broadcast live from Los Angeles's Peacock Theater in the evening of September 14. For us in Australia, the broadcast will take place on Tuesday, September 15 at around 10am AEST, or closer to 7am for the west coast.

The winners from each category will be chosen by the roughly 26,000 performers, directors, producers and other members of the Television Academy.

Adelaide actress stars in Best Drama nominee

South Australian born actress, Shabana Azeez holds one of the lead roles in The Pitt, starring as Dr Victoria Javadi, an intern doctor navigating the politics of an emergency room.

The 29-year-old has been immersed in the world of Australian indie television since 2018, featuring in The Hunting and In Limbo.

Azeez' breakout role came in 2023 as a lead in the Australian psychological thriller Birdeater, which went on to feature at US film festival, South by Southwest.
