Three killed, 18 missing in building collapse in Philippines

Three people were killed in the collapse of a nine-story building under construction in the Philippine city of Angeles, GMA News reported. Another 18 people are listed as missing.

Authorities said that the search and rescue operation is ongoing, with 26 people rescued so far.

Jay Pelayo, head of the city administration's press service, earlier reported that the building had collapsed overnight from Saturday to Sunday, trapping up to 40 construction workers under the rubble. About 10 people managed to escape the scene on their own. A Malaysian tourist staying at a neighboring hotel was injured in the incident and later succumbed to his injuries.
