US president Donald Trump made a bold claim stating that UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer will resign and then took a jab saying "he failed badly".

"Keir Starmer will resign as Prime Minister of The United Kingdom. He failed badly on two very important subjects- IMMIGRATION AND ENERGY (OPEN NORTH SEA OIL!). I wish him well!" said Trump on Truth Social.

Starmer is facing growing pressure within the Labour Party amid concerns that his government has failed to convert its sweeping 2024 election victory into tangible improvements for voters. While Labour secured a landslide mandate, Starmer's administration has struggled with sluggish economic growth, persistent cost-of-living pressures and mounting public dissatisfaction over the state of public services, including the NHS.

The party's disappointing performance in local elections earlier this year further intensified concerns among Labour MPs, with critics arguing that the government has lost momentum less than two years into its term.

Starmer has also faced backlash over a series of policy reversals and internal disagreements that have fuelled perceptions of an uncertain governing strategy.
