Tourist missing in Lake Como after a dip in Lenno

The search continues for the tourist, a 21-year-old resident in Milan, who never resurfaced after a dive into Lake Como, in the Lenno area of ​​the Municipality of Tremezzina. The young man, according to the Coast Guard, sank to a seabed between 290 and 300 meters.

The rescue efforts are coordinated by the Operations Room of the Lake Rescue Sub Center of the Milan Coast Guard, which sent the CP 607 patrol boat to rescue the young boater who was in the company of the missing man, who was left in shock on the drifting boat. The woman, immediately intercepted and assisted by the military, was then transferred to the port, where an 118 ambulance intervened.

In the meantime, the fire brigade divers began searching for the 21-year-old, without success also due to the considerable depth, while a helicopter from the Financial Police of the Roan of Como, coming from Varese, intervened in the area, participating in the surface searches. Also used in the surface searches were two jet skis and a boat from the Como Fire Brigade and a second patrol boat from the Lake Como Coast Guard.

At the moment the searches, still in progress, have not yielded a positive outcome and the General Command of the Port Authority Corps has ordered the dispatch of personnel from the 5th Sub Unit of the Genoa Coast Guard, which is arriving in the area to start depth searches, through the use of the Rov, which can operate up to 300 metres.
