Türkiye's domestic oil and natural gas production in the first half of the year announced

In the statement made by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, the work carried out to bring domestic and national resources, especially Gabar oil and Black Sea natural gas, into the economy continues without slowing down.

THE LION'S SHARE BECOMES GABAR

In this context, total domestic oil production in the first half of the year was recorded as 23.1 million barrels. While 21.8 million barrels of production was carried out through Turkish Petroleum Joint Stock Company (TPAO), the lion's share in total production belonged to Gabar with 60 percent.

In the January-June period, natural gas production exceeded 1 billion 641 million cubic meters. While TPAO undertook 1 billion 608 million cubic meters of production, the remaining 33 million cubic meters were carried out by private sector companies. 92 percent of the total production came from Sakarya Gas Field.

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, whose views were included in the statement, stated that domestic natural gas and oil production continues unabated and said, "On the one hand, we will increase our oil production with the new wells we opened in Gabar, and on the other hand, we will double our natural gas production in the Black Sea this year. Our domestic oil and natural gas production will continue to increase." he said.

Bayraktar pointed out that Türkiye carries out studies on oil and natural gas not only domestically but also abroad, and said:

"Our moves abroad constitute a part of our vision of a Fully Independent Turkey in Energy. Our oil and natural gas production continues with the partnerships we have established abroad. In addition, we are drilling in Somalia, and we have received licenses for 2 fields in Libya, one at sea and the other on land.

Finally, we made an agreement specifically for Iraq and became partners in 5 fields in Kirkuk, which are estimated to contain 3 billion barrels of oil reserves. "There is now a Türkiye that is a playmaker on a global scale in the field of energy, a Türkiye that conducts exploration and production at home and abroad."
