Acting Governor of the Tver Region Vitaly Korolev at SPIEF 2026 agreed to expand the partnership of the Tver Region with the Republic of Belarus and the United Arab Emirates
MOSCOW, June 4 - RIA Novosti. Acting Governor of the Tver Region Vitaly Korolev, within the framework of the SPIEF, held meetings with representatives of the Republic of Belarus, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), as well as the Russian Export Center, where agreements were reached on expanding international cooperation of the region with friendly countries, the press service of the regional government reports.
Economic and cultural ties between the Upper Volga region and Belarus are successfully developing. Korolev discussed the continuation of the partnership with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Russian Federation Yuri Seliverstov, and Chairman of the State Committee for Standardization of the Republic of Belarus Elena Morgunova.
Korolev emphasized that the Tver region and Belarus have close economic and friendly ties. The Republic occupies a leading position among the counterparty countries of the region.
“The Tver region is historically bound by an agreement with the Republic. We will continue our cooperation and develop it. This is the sphere of agriculture, in particular flax growing, which is of interest to both parties. These are the supply of transport, tractors, fire fighting and other equipment. We are planning mutual exchanges in the cultural sphere. I proposed the need to create a House of the Tver Region in Minsk and, accordingly, a House of Belarus in Tver. This will allow the development of cultural and economic ties through a trade mission,” said Korolev following the meeting.
The head of the region also named the areas of AI, construction, education, science and tourism as promising. The head of the region invited the partners to work on these and other areas of interaction during the Republic’s business mission to the Tver region - at the meeting it was discussed that it would be held this summer.
According to the press service, today the main export goods to Belarus are machinery and equipment, plastics and products made from them, paper and cardboard, and food products. Agricultural producers in the Tver region are in demand for the products of the Minsk Tractor Plant.
Korolev discussed the expansion of export opportunities in the Upper Volga region with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to the Russian Federation, Mohammad Ahmad Sultan Essa Aljaber. The meeting participants were General Director of the Russian Export Center Veronika Nikishina and Chairman of the Board of Directors of RDS Technologies Alexander Starostin.
The parties spoke about increasing the export of regional products to the countries of the Middle East, Asia and Africa, and the development of joint production with the UAE with the support of the Russian Export Center.
The RDS Technologies company, a manufacturer of critical components for turbines and other high-tech equipment for the nuclear, oil and gas, chemical and pulp and paper industries, is ready to participate in this work. The company successfully localized the production of equipment for compresses and turbines in the Tver region.
