US and Iran Agree to Peace Deal, Strait of Hormuz to Reopen

Iran state TV says that Iran has confirmed that the peace deal has been accepted.

Iranian deputy foreign minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi says the immediate and permanent end to the war and military operations on various fronts, including Lebanon, will be announced tonight, local time

"From tonight, the end of the US naval blockage against Iran will begin," the Tasmin news reported, quoting the minister.

Moments ago, US President Donald Trump announced the United States and Iran had agreed to a peace deal.

US President Donald Trump says the United State and Iran have agreed to a peace deal to end their war, which began on February 28.

Trump wrote on Truth Social just moments ago, saying:

"The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete," he wrote.

"Congratulations to all! I hereby fully authorize the toll free opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and, simultaneously herewith, authorize the immediate removal of the United States Naval blockade."

"Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow!"

While all the terms of the deal are yet to be announced, what we do know is the Strait of Hormuz is set to be reopened.
