Pedlar with the quick reply after another Dawson assist

C

By Chris De Silva

Oh this is rough for the Bulldogs!

Sam Berry sends a long ball inside 50 and Jordan Dawson hangs out the back of a big marking contest, picks up the ball and then hands off to Luke Pedlar, who kicks his second of the night.

The Crows have now kicked 6.0 to 2.0 from stoppages for the night. They've also got four multiple goalkickers.

Richards makes it two goals in two minutes

C

By Chris De Silva

Here come the Bulldogs!

Joel Freijah in the thick of it again as he creates a turnover at half forward, and then hands off smartly to Ed Richards.

Richards comes very close to running over the 15m legal limit, but drills it on the run for his 11th goal of the season.

Feels like momentum has shifted just a tad. The Dogs have kicked four of the last five goals.

Hynes gets the quick reply for the Dogs

C

By Chris De Silva

The Dogs win a forward 50 stoppage and Rhylee West finds Joel Freijah, who finds Cooper Hynes.

Hynes receives it and unloads from 45m out and it sneaks through!

Fogarty threads the needle from an acute angle

C

By Chris De Silva

Darcy Fogarty is one of the best set shots in the comp, and he shows it here!

The Bulldogs are a little hard done by as Jake Soligo gets away with what should've been a holding the ball call on the wing.

Jordan Dawson runs away with the loose ball and then hits up Zac Taylor, who then finds Fogarty inside 50.

That one takes the snuff out of the Dogs comeback attempt.

Jones gets the first goal of the second term

C

By Chris De Silva

Aaron Naughton spills an easy mark on the lead inside 50, but his blushes are spared by ARty Jones.

Jones traps Jake Soligo with a beautiful tackle after the spilt mark and he goes back and drills the set shot.

Dogs with two straight now. We saw their midfield start incredibly slowly last week, could it be a case of dรฉjร  vu?

Lobb moved into defence to start second term

C

By Chris De Silva

Rory Lobb has the Riley Thilthorpe assignment to start the second quarter.

I think that's a match-up switch the Dogs had to make, because Thilthorpe was way too strong for James O'Donnell.

Meanwhile, Jordan Dawson's first term was the third highest-rated quarter on record, per Fox Footy. Remarkable stuff.

QT: Adelaide 9.2 (56) leads Western Bulldogs 2.3 (15)

C

By Chris De Silva

Joel Freijah snaps one home with a couple of seconds left to give the Dogs some momentum going into the first change.

Good forward pressure that time from the Dogs forwards, who forced a rushed kick off the last line of defence.

There's a brief ARC check on the Freijah goal but it's eventually green-lit. That would've been devastating for the Crows if it got disallowed as well.

They need all the help they can get after a quite remarkable first quarter from Adelaide.

Skipper Jordan Dawson has been in the thick of it all, kicking three of the Crows' nine first-quarter goals while also picking up eight touches.

The Crows have smashed the Dogs all over the ground. They lead the disposal count 118-70, the inside 50s 17-13 and the clearances 12-8.

Adelaide's pressure all over the ground has been absolutely sensational. They lead the tackle count 19-13 and have laid four tackles inside forward 50.

James Peatling is the leading ball-winner on the ground with 13 disposals, while Ryley Sanders leads the way for the Dogs with eight touches, with seven of those handballs.

Thilthorpe makes it three goals from three disposals

C

By Chris De Silva

Jordan Dawson bounds out of a stoppage on the wing and this time puts the ball right down Riley Thilthorpe's throat on the lead.

Thilthorpe goes back and drills his third goal from as many kicks.

Dawson absolutely killing Matt Kennedy right now. Feels like Bevo's got to shift the magnets around.

The Crows skipper has eight touches, five score involvements and two clearances to go along with his three goals. Just an unreal first quarter.

Dawson nails third goal of the first quarter

C

By Chris De Silva

Jordan Dawson is running riot at Docklands Stadium here!

Another turnover from the Dogs in an attempt to come out of defence as Matt Kennedy spills a mark 55m out from goal.

Dawson pounces on the loose ball and then flushes it from inside the centre square for his third goal of the night.

Adelaide incredibly out to a 41-point lead now.

Pedlar makes it seven straight for the Crows

C

By Chris De Silva

It's getting late very, very early for the Bulldogs!

Josh Rachele in the thick of it once again, and he sends a left-footed sizzler inside 50 where he finds Luke Pedlar on the lead.

Pedlar drills the set shot from 35m out on the tough angle.

The Crows have seven goals from 10 inside 50s. This has been an absolute shellacking early on.

Rachele doubles up as Dogs defence 'rattled'

C

By Chris De Silva

Josh Rachele's got two goals in a matter of minute

It's another loose ball inside 50, and this time Ben Keays picks it up and hands off to Rachele, whose floater from 40m out sails through!

"They're rattled right now. They need some help and they're not getting it," David King says of the Dogs defence on Fox Footy.

Rachele strikes as Crows continue to do damage

C

By Chris De Silva

Another repeat inside 50, another goal!

This time it's Josh Worrell who intercepts an attempted kick outside 50 from Cooper Hynes.

Worrell then sends a long one inside 50 and Josh Rachele plays the role of a crumber perfectly and snaps it home.

Jones drills brilliant banana to get Dogs on the board

C

By Chris De Silva

ARTY JONES, WHAT A FINISH!

Connor Budarick does brilliantly to eat up some metres running off halfback to create this goal.

Jones gets on the end of a handball, but he's tight in the pocket, and it doesn't matter as he goes for the banana and executes it to perfection.

Thilthorpe outmuscles O'Donnell to kick another

C

By Chris De Silva

Riley Thilthorpe looks ON tonight!

The Crows find him isolated in another one-on-one, this time it's in the square, and Thilthorpe legally flings James O'Donnell out of the way to take the mark.

A lovely kick inside 50 from Darcy Fogarty on his non-preferred left foot.

The Crows have kicked four goals from five inside 50 entries.

Crows off to flyer as Dawson strikes again

C

By Chris De Silva

Adelaide wins the centre clearance straight after Jordan Dawson's last goal and this time Josh Worrell puts it down his skipper's throat.

This set shot is a little trickier than the last one, but Dawson makes no mistake.

Very handy 17-point break for the Crows with just eight minutes gone.

Feels like the right time to mention that Adelaide has won its last four matches at Docklands.

Dawson makes it two straight for the Crows

C

By Chris De Silva

Jordan Dawson takes a big contested mark inside 50 after some excellent forward pressure from the Crows.

He goes back and drills the set shot from directly in front.

Adelaide has already laid two tackles inside its forward 50.

Thilthorpe strikes after Dogs dominate territory

C

By Chris De Silva

The Bulldogs have the first four inside 50 entries of the match, but can't take advantage.

Adelaide is able to finally transition out of defence through the middle of the ground, and Rory Laird sends the ball inside 50 where Riley Thilthorpe takes a good contested mark.

Thilthorpe is 25m out on a slight angle and converts the easy set shot.

James Peatling off to a strong start, he leads all players with five touches and has a clearance too.

Weightman denied return goal by ARC

C

By Chris De Silva

What a moment this is!

Cody Weightman made his return after 637 days out last week, but couldn't kick a goal.

However, he's struck straight away here!

The Dogs go forward out of the centre bounce and Weightman attacks the dribbling ball beautifully and snaps over his right shoulder and is absolutely MOBBED.

Oh no, the ARC shows that Weightman's kick was touched by James Peatling.

Correct call, but the romantic side of me boos that bigtime.
