Yung Filly on Trial for Alleged Sexual Assault of Fan in Perth Hotel

British social media personality Yung Filly violently and repeatedly sexually assaulted a young fan in a hotel room during his tour of Australia, a court has heard.

The alleged victim, who cannot be identified, had a "celebrity crush" on the YouTuber and rapper, the court heard, and had consensual sex with him in his Perth hotel after a nightclub performance in September 2024.

But the encounter soon became "non-consensual", and she found herself being physically assaulted, the court was told.

Yung Filly, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, 30, is on trial in the District Court, accused of sexually assaulting the 20-year-old woman.

Prosecutor Danielle Clarke said the woman was looking forward to seeing his performance at Bar1 at Hillarys Boat Harbour, with her cousin.

The prosecutor said she had recorded a video saying she "loved Yung Filly and wanted him to be her future husband".

The woman wore her "lucky" white top but, the prosecutor said it "turned out to be anything but lucky" for the alleged victim.

'You're coming home with me'

The woman was allowed into the club's VIP lounge, where free drinks were available, and she was approached by Mr Barrientos, who seemed interested in her.

Ms Clarke said the rapper told her "you're coming home with me tonight", with the woman believing she was going to a party, but they went to the Intercontinental Hotel on Hay Street.

Mr Barrientos's bodyguard took her phone.

Inside the hotel room, the woman had consensual sex with him. But the prosecutor said the rapper became more aggressive, biting her neck, right cheek and breast.

The alleged victim had told him to stop, but he continued, the court heard.

Ms Clarke told the jury he held his hand tightly around her neck for a few seconds and slapped her, telling her to say derogatory things.

The woman refused, the court was told, and started to cry.

The court heard Mr Barrientos then allegedly anally raped her.

After the alleged rape, she overheard Mr Barrientos saying to his bodyguard that she "wasn't good in bed".

The court heard the alleged victim took photos of her injuries and reported it to police the next day.

Court told bite broke skin

The alleged victim, who is now 21, told the court via videolink from another room that Yung Filly was her "idol" at the time.

She described how she saw him on the night, smiling with "vampire-looking teeth" and handing out free tequila shots in the VIP area.

The woman told the court she had "four or six shots" during the night but "knew what I was doing".

She said that while they were still at the venue, Mr Barrientos put his hands down her pants, and she told him "I'm not like that".

"It really shows your age" was the rapper's response, she said.

The woman said they had consensual sex at the hotel but he started "throwing me around" before biting her, hitting her and putting a hand around her neck.

She described the biting as "very, very hard" and she told him he was hurting her.

She told the court a bite on her breast broke the skin and she later had to get a tetanus shot in hospital.

The woman told the court she covered her face but he got her hands and "pinned them down", before hitting her face again.

"He was strong," she said.

After the bodyguard gave her phone back, she said went to her cousin's home, messaging her that she needed an ice pack.

"My face had been badly beaten, it was sore," the woman told the court.

The court was shown images of the injuries Mr Barrientos allegedly inflicted, including bruising around the neck area.

"I knew that I was sexually assaulted and raped," she told the court, saying she didn't know what to do about it.

She messaged Mr Barrientos using Instagram, saying she thought she had left her car keys at the room and asking him to let her know if he found them.

She told the court she actually didn't have car keys with her on the night, and had messaged him so he would be able to see what he did to her, but there was no response.

Mr Barrientos is charged with six counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault causing bodily harm and one count of impeding someone's normal breathing.

Defence lawyer David Edwardson did not give an opening statement.

The trial is set down for two weeks.

Yung Filly's social media channels boast millions of followers while his videos have amassed more than 100 million views.

He has also found success in music, charting two top 40 singles in the UK, including one that was certified silver for selling more than 200,000 units.

Yung Filly performs on songs as a rapper, with his musical projects prompting the 2024 tour of Australia.
