AAA testing reveals electric vehicle range drops 39% in freezing 20°F weather and 8.5% in extreme heat compared to optimal 65-75°F conditions. While hot weather range loss improved from 17% in 2019 to 8.5% today, cold weather performance showed little improvement. The research was conducted at AAA's Automotive Research Center in Los Angeles using a chassis dynamometer. Despite the range loss, experts say EVs remain practical in cold climates with proper planning, pointing to Norway's 98% EV adoption rate as evidence.

Russian Helicopters (Rostec) has completed additional import-substituting Mi-171A3 helicopter tests in Yakutia at temperatures down to -50°C. Specialists conducted 66 flights and 22 ground tests confirming stable operation of all systems. Results have been submitted to Rosaviatsiya for certification amendments, expanding the aircraft's operational temperature range for use in the Russian Arctic and Far East during winter.
