Anze Kopitar of the Los Angeles Kings, Cole Caufield of the Montreal Canadiens and Jake Sanderson of the Ottawa Senators have been named finalists for the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy, awarded annually to the NHL player who best exemplifies sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct. Kopitar, in his final professional season at age 38, is seeking to become the first repeat winner since Martin St. Louis in 2010-11 and a fifth four-time winner. Caufield became Montreal's first 50-goal scorer in 36 seasons, while Sanderson recorded eight penalty minutes in 67 games.
