Former Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia, a Heisman Trophy runner-up, helped recruit five-star prospect Jared Curtis, who flipped from Georgia to Vanderbilt on Dec. 2, becoming the highest-ranked commitment in school history. Curtis, ESPN's No. 1-ranked pocket passer in the Class of 2026, is in a four-way battle for the starting job alongside senior Blaze Berlowitz, junior Whit Muschamp and sophomore Jack Elliott. The Commodores, coming off a 17-9 record over the past two seasons, open against Austin Peay on Sept. 5.
The Baltimore Ravens signed undrafted Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia on Tuesday, three days before his scheduled rookie minicamp tryout. Pavia, who became the first Heisman Trophy finalist to go undrafted in 12 years, led Vanderbilt to its first double-digit win season in school history (10-3) and was named SEC Offensive Player of the Year and first-team All-American. The Ravens also signed undrafted Connecticut quarterback Joe Fagnano, giving both equal opportunity to compete for the No. 3 quarterback spot.
