Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera has moved the Supreme Court after the Gauhati High Court rejected his anticipatory bail plea in a defamation and forgery case filed by Assam Police. Khera had alleged that Assam CM's wife holds foreign passports and undisclosed assets abroad.
The Gauhati High Court on Friday rejected Congress leader Pawan Khera's anticipatory bail plea in a case related to his allegations that Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's wife possessed multiple passports and undisclosed foreign properties. A single bench of Justice Parthiv Jyoti Saikia dismissed the application. Khera had approached the Supreme Court after Telangana High Court granted him transit anticipatory bail, which was later stayed by the apex court. Assam Police have registered an FIR against Khera and visited his New Delhi residence on April 7 but did not find him.
