An ATSB investigation into a fatal helicopter crash found the pilot was flying after sunset without the correct qualifications or equipment, prompting new safety procedures at the remote cattle station where he was working.
A Fly91 flight with 22 passengers from Hyderabad to Hubballi was diverted to Bengaluru on Sunday due to adverse weather conditions. The aircraft circled Hubballi for nearly an hour before diversion, remaining airborne for around three hours. Some passengers experienced distress, with reports of crying and prayers. The flight landed safely in Bengaluru at 6:30 pm and returned to Hubballi at 11 pm after weather improved. The airline stated there was zero compromise to safety and denied reports of a technical issue.
