
Minister Urso: Ilva must survive despite adverse context and €7 billion damages
Italian Industry Minister Adolfo Urso stated that the Ilva steel plant must survive despite a challenging environment and €7 billion in damages from previous management. He announced a meeting with unions to discuss the plant's future and decarbonization goals, noting that Italian steel production has increased in early 2026 and expressing hope for Piombino's production to resume and for Taranto to also return to steel production.
