Voting and civil rights groups have filed a lawsuit against Alaska elections officials alleging that sharing the state's full voter registration list with the U.S. Department of Justice violates the state constitution. The plaintiffs — League of Women Voters of Alaska and Alaska Black Caucus — claim the handover of personal data including dates of birth, driver's license numbers and partial Social Security numbers violates privacy rights and due process. The lawsuit names Lt. Gov. Nancy Dahlstrom and Division Director Carol Beecher as defendants. Alaska is among at least 12 states that have provided detailed voter information to the Trump administration.
