檢警調查，有毒品前科的王姓男子昨日下午從朋友家離開後，準備返回永和住處，開車行經景平路準備左轉大勇街時，疑受毒品影響開過頭，想要倒車卻不慎撞擊路邊緣石。隨後竟猛烈倒車，撞上在待轉區停等的機車，造成車上的林姓姊妹當場倒地。
王男撞倒機車後，竟不予理會，直接駕車前行，導致車輪輾壓過林姓姊妹。其中64歲的妹妹傷勢嚴重，送醫搶救後不治身亡；71歲姊姊則肋骨及鼻梁骨折、全身多處擦傷，所幸意識清楚，經送往雙和醫院救治後無生命危險。
現場員警盤查王男時，發現他精神恍惚，進行酒測後，其酒測值為0.00mg/L，另對其進行毒品唾液快篩檢測，結果呈依託咪酯陽性反應，當場在王男褲袋內查獲依託咪酯煙彈1顆及吸食器1枚。
警方蒐證後將查扣的煙彈及吸食器等證物依法扣押，也針對王男的毒駕違規行為，依道路交通管理處罰條例第35條規定依法告發，並當場予以扣留車輛；詢問後依違反毒品危害防制條例、公共危險及過失致死罪嫌移送新北地檢署偵辦。
新北地檢署檢察官經漏夜訊問後，今日凌晨認定王男有滅證及反覆實施之虞，向新北地方法院聲請羈押。
