江啟臣今天受邀至台中國際會展中心，參加台中國際藝術博覽會的開幕，對於日菲劃界海域談判，範圍竟涉及我國領海，他受訪表示，政府要保持高度的關切。
江啟臣指出，雖然台日還有台菲之間，都有相關的協議或者是合作，但是畢竟日菲的這一個談判，內容是有重疊到台灣的經濟海域，所以政府還是要保持高度的關切。
江啟臣指出，人民最期待的，還是希望看到政府展現出捍衛主權的態度跟決心，同時也要保障台灣漁權的一些行動，因為這是涉及到國家跟人民的權益。
他進一步的說明，國際法等等，不是說不重要，而是國際的情勢是瞬息萬變，日菲的談判內容到底涉及到哪些實質內容？政府有沒有掌握？這恐怕才是人民最關心的，只有隨時掌握他們談判的內容跟進度，才能夠做出最好的因應。但是，對外表達台灣的立場跟態度，是必要的。
