Bank of Russia to Publish Ranking of Microfinance Institutions

ST. PETERSBURG, June 25. /TASS/. The Bank of Russia plans to publish a ranking of microfinance institutions (MFIs) soon, Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia Mikhail Mamuta told TASS on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum.
"We plan to post the ranking for MFIs shortly," Mamuta noted. "This will be a consolidated ranking, like the banking one from this year: on complaints that come to the Central Bank, and on complaints that come to the Financial Ombudsman Service, in order to show the most comprehensive picture of the attitude of organizations to the consumer," he said.
The main innovation is that there will be the most comprehensive vision of how a financial institution, in this case, an MFI, interacts with the consumers when problems arise and whether it creates such problems, the official added.
