British duo Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid started their bid for a seventh consecutive men's wheelchair doubles title at the French Open with a comfortable quarter-final victory.

Hewett, 28, and Reid, 34, beat France's Frederic Cattaneo and Brazil's Daniel Rodrigues 6-0 6-2 to reach the semi-finals.

The top seeds in Paris reached the final of all four Grand Slams in 2025, winning the Australian Open and French Open, but lost in the semi-finals of the first major of this year in Melbourne.

Hewett and Reid have not lost a doubles match together at Roland Garros since a semi-final loss in 2019.

Hewett made it through to the last eight of the singles event on Tuesday, but Reid was knocked out by defending champion Tokito Oda of Japan.

Elsewhere on Wednesday, Andy Lapthorne and Greg Slade were both eliminated in straight sets from the quad singles at the quarter-final stage.

Lapthorne was beaten 6-3 6-2 by second seed Niels Vink of the Netherlands, while wildcard Slade lost 6-0 6-0 to Turkey's Ahmet Kaplan.
