Lebanese Diplomat Accuses Elon Musk of Promoting Anti-Muslim Hatred in UK

Mohamad Safa, a Lebanese diplomat and former United Nations representative, has accused Elon Musk of promoting anti-Muslim hatred in the UK and claimed that such hostility in the country is being funded by Zionists. In a post on X, Safa wrote: "The anti-Muslim hatred in the UK is funded by Zionists and promoted by Elon Musk." Musk has repeatedly commented on issues including UK grooming gang scandals and immigration policies. The billionaire has also publicly supported Tommy Robinson and criticised British authorities over their handling of grooming gang cases. Also, Green Party leader Zack Polanski blamed Elon Musk and anti-Muslim rhetoric from politicians for creating the conditions that led to attacks in Edinburgh in which five Muslim men were injured. Polanski wrote on X: "Let's be very clear that vicious anti-Muslim hatred by politicians and their trillionaire mate @elonmusk create the conditions for this kind of vile attack." He also expressed solidarity with Muslims affected by the incident, writing: "Sending huge solidarity to the Muslim community in Edinburgh and beyond."

Who is Mohamad Safa?

Safa was born on March 8, 1991, in Borj Rahal, Lebanon. He is best known for his work with the Patriotic Vision Association (PVA), an organisation that has participated in United Nations forums through consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). According to his LinkedIn profile, Safa served as the organisation's representative to the United Nations from 2016, representing PVA at UN offices in Geneva, New York and Vienna. His profile also states that he has served as chief executive officer of the organisation since 2015, overseeing its programmes, operations and international activities. Before that, he worked as chief administrative officer, managing day-to-day operations and organisational planning. Safa made headlines in March 2026 when he announced his resignation from his UN role. At the time, he claimed he had become aware of a planned nuclear strike on Iran and accused senior UN figures of serving powerful lobbying interests rather than the organisation's mission. No evidence was publicly presented to support the claim. He frequently comments on Middle East politics, international affairs and human rights issues on social media.
