Poland Sees No Imminent Russian Military Attack, but Warns of Escalating Sabotage

Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz has stated there are no indications of an imminent Russian military attack on Poland, though he warned of escalating sabotage and destabilization efforts by Moscow. This comes as tensions over the Ukraine conflict continue to rise. Speaking to RMF FM, Kosiniak-Kamysz noted, "There are no predictions of an attack like the full-scale war in Ukraine," but emphasized that Russia is increasing its sabotage, provocations, and destabilization efforts. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has previously suggested Russia may be preparing for a "global confrontation" by 2027.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov countered that the "civilized world" is waging war against Russia through Ukraine, supplying advanced weaponry. Lavrov warned that European nations are preparing for a full-scale war against Moscow. Meanwhile, Russian Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik condemned Ukraine's long-range kamikaze drone strikes targeting Russian regions, calling them "terrorist" acts. Recent strikes have killed at least 57 civilians, including seven children.

The conflict has seen increased drone attacks by Ukraine on Russian energy infrastructure, warehouses, and residential areas, with Russia viewing the conflict as a NATO-led proxy war. Despite the tensions, Poland's defense minister reassures there's no immediate threat of a large-scale invasion like Ukraine's.
