SEOUL, June 22 (Yonhap) -- The Premier League giants Manchester City and the 11-time Spanish champions Atletico Madrid will play preseason matches in Seoul this summer.
South Korean streaming service Coupang Play announced Monday that Man City and Atletico Madrid will participate in the fifth annual "Coupang Play Series" in August.
Fresh off a domestic double with the Carabao Cup and FA Cup titles, Man City will take on "Team K League," an All-Star squad for the domestic league, on Aug. 5 at Seoul World Cup Stadium.
Then on Aug. 9, Man City and Atletico Madrid will square off at the same venue.
Further details of the matches, including ticket sales and kickoff times, will be announced later, Coupang Play said.
Coupang Play Series has featured popular European clubs since its launch in 2022, including Tottenham Hotspur, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Newcastle United. Man City and Atletico Madrid faced each other in South Korea in the 2023 Coupang Play Series.
