The Miao ethnic group in Xiangxi has a tradition of making tiger hats as children's ornaments, symbolizing blessings for health and prosperity. In 2014, Shibadong Village established a Miao embroidery cooperative to preserve and promote this craft. The recent surge in attention for the tiger hat is attributed to the dedicated efforts of multiple generations of Miao embroiderers.
