The All-Russian Forum “City for the Family” started in Saransk

NIZHNY NOVGOROD, October 1 - RIA Novosti. The All-Russian forum “City for the Family” started in Saransk, the organizers report.

The forum is held on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives and by decision of the Commission of the State Council of the Russian Federation in the area of ​​​​"Family".

The plenary session of the forum was dedicated to family-oriented urbanism - a new paradigm for the country's development. As noted by the head of Mordovia, chairman of the State Council of the Russian Federation commission in the “Family” direction, Artem Zdunov, the holding of the “Family Capital of Russia” competition, organized on behalf of the head of state, showed the enormous interest of the cities - 60 applications were received, the quality of preparation of which was as high as possible.

“Our task is for people to understand that the city exists for the family - in every area, even small ones, in parks, squares, at bus stops, in public transport, in institutions. The competition is designed to show that we all must catch up: there are undisputed leading cities that have powerful aspirations and a professional approach. So that they can literally consolidate everyone,” Zdunov’s words are quoted in the message.

He named the regions of Russia that showed the greatest activity in the competition. These are the Primorsky and Krasnodar Territories, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, Bashkiria, Tatarstan and the Samara Region. Three cities entered from each of these regions.

Based on the results of the evaluation of applications, members of the competition expert council identified ten finalist cities: Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Penza, Ryazan, Saransk, Tula, Khanty-Mansiysk and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. It was these cities that hosted expert council members to conduct inspection visits and determine how the city creates a positive image of the family care area. Following all stages, a meeting of the organizing committee will be held, at which the results will be approved.

The ceremonial announcement of the “Family Capital of Russia” for 2027 and the awarding of winners in five categories will take place on October 13 as part of the summing up of the finals of the “Family of the Year” competition.

“Among the 52 cities that were admitted to the expert assessment, six have implemented all the parameters stipulated by the competition. These are Nizhny Novgorod, Saransk, Novokuznetsk, Nizhnekamsk, Khanty-Mansiysk and Tula. But there are also areas for growth. “The Family Capital of Russia” is a powerful competition for the development of all participating cities and all cities of the Russian Federation,” said the chairman of the State Council commission on the direction "Family".

A special place during the plenary session was occupied by presentations of the finalist cities of the “Family Capital of Russia” competition and their best practices - what is already working, has changed the lives of families and what can become a model for replication throughout the country. The All-Russian forum “City for the Family” will last three days, its participants will enjoy discussions, educational marathons and master classes.
