It was belatedly revealed that a social worker in his 20s who pushed a severely disabled resident to death at a welfare facility for the disabled was detained and handed over to the prosecution.

The Bundang Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 30th that it had arrested and sent Mr. A, a social worker at a disabled care facility, on the 6th on charges of causing injury to death.

On the 21st of last month, Mr. A is accused of causing the death of Mr. B, a man in his 50s, by pushing him hard and causing him to fall to his death at the social welfare corporation care facility for the disabled where he worked in Yatap-dong, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si.

At that time, Mr. B, who was pushed by Mr. A and fell, suffered serious head injuries and was taken to the hospital in an unconscious state, where he died two days later on the 23rd.

It was found that Mr. A, who worked as a life guidance counselor who supported and managed the lives of residents at the facility, abused Mr. B by pulling or pushing him several times in the week before the incident.

The police reported that on the day of the incident, physical force was used against Mr. B again, causing the victim's death.

A police official said, "The victim is a severely disabled person without a guardian, and suffered a misfortune after entering the facility 26 years ago." He added, "After analyzing the CCTV footage inside the facility, we charged the suspect with causing bodily harm."
