Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, October 26th: According to the unified deployment of the Party Central Committee on inspection work, the eighth round of inspection work of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China was recently completed. 15 central inspection teams will carry out regular inspections of the Ministry of Education and the party organizations of 31 centrally managed universities.
The inspected units held inspection mobilization meetings respectively. The leaders of each central inspection team gave a mobilization speech and put forward requirements for in-depth study and implementation of the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech on inspection work and for solidly carrying out inspection work.
The leaders of each central inspection team pointed out that since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core has regarded inspections as an important measure to strengthen party building and a strategic institutional arrangement for intra-party supervision, leading the inspection work to maintain integrity, innovation and deepening development. Inspections have become a sharp sword for party management and a sharp tool for governing the country. Education is a major plan for the country and the Party. Higher education is the leader in building an educational power and plays an important role in the cause of the Party and the country. Conducting inspections of the Ministry of Education and centrally managed colleges and universities is an important measure to promote the inspected party organizations to uphold and strengthen the party's overall leadership, adhere to the original mission of educating people for the party and the country, provide better services to support high-quality development, and consistently promote comprehensive and strict party governance. It is necessary to improve the political position, effectively integrate thoughts and actions into the decision-making and deployment of the Party Central Committee, and complete the inspection tasks assigned by the Party Central Committee with a high sense of responsibility and mission.
Leaders of each Central Inspection Team emphasized that the Central Inspection Team will thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, especially Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building, fully implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and all 20th Plenary Sessions, conscientiously implement the deployment of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection at the fifth and sixth plenary sessions, firmly grasp the fundamental tasks of "two maintenances", thoroughly implement inspection work guidelines, and accurately implement political inspection requirements. Focus on the functions and responsibilities of the inspected party organizations, highlight the key points of supervision, carry out supervision closely around the implementation of the Party Central Committee's major decisions and arrangements on education, conduct in-depth inspections on the implementation of the fundamental tasks of cultivating moral integrity and promoting the development of educational science and technology talents, in-depth inspections on preventing and defusing risks, in-depth inspections on the strict management of the party, leadership teams and the construction of grassroots party organizations, and strive to discover and promote the solution of outstanding problems, providing a strong guarantee for strengthening the party's leadership and party building and promoting the high-quality development of education.
The main person in charge of the inspected party organization said that they will thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important expositions on inspection work, implement political responsibilities, insist on answering the same questions, actively support and cooperate with the inspection work, consciously accept supervision, conscientiously carry out rectification, implement the party's education policy to the letter, and achieve "two safeguards" with practical actions to perform duties.
It is reported that the 15 central inspection teams will work in the inspected units for about 2 months. During the inspection period, special on-duty telephone numbers and postal mailboxes will be set up to mainly accept letters, calls and visits reflecting problems on the leadership team of the inspected party organization, its members, and the main leaders of the lower-level party organizations. The focus will be on reports and reports on violations of political discipline, organizational discipline, integrity discipline, mass discipline, work discipline, life discipline, etc. The inspection team will accept petitions until December 21, 2026.
