US likely to support Saudi Arabia in Yemen against Houthis

The United States is likely to support Saudi Arabia and its allies in Yemen in the fight against the Yemeni Shiite movement Ansar Allah (Houthis). This assessment was made in a commentary to Lente.ru by Ivan Bocharov, program manager of the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC), author of the Telegram channel “Middle Eastern Kaleidoscope”.

According to Bocharov, the United States can provide more active support to Saudi Arabia through intelligence and other military assistance. At the same time, the orientalist considered it unlikely that the American military would directly participate in ground combat.

The expert also noted that Washington, to a certain extent, is already involved in the conflict, and the US army has previously attacked Houthi positions.
