SBU employee was detained in connection with an explosion at an ammunition depot near Kyiv

An employee of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) was detained and arrested in connection with an explosion at an ammunition depot in the village of Milaya near Kiev. The State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine reported this on its Telegram channel.

According to investigators, an SBU officer organized the storage of ammunition in a former vegetable storehouse located near residential buildings.

“Not only did the premises not meet the requirements, but its placement was not coordinated with the relevant law enforcement agencies and air defense units. Also, the official did not take measures to minimize the risks of the enemy simultaneously destroying a large amount of ammunition,” the report says.

Earlier, Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky confirmed that the attack in the village of Milaya in the Buchansky district was at an ammunition storage site, and after the attack there was an explosion. He noted that this was blatant negligence by those who stored explosives in close proximity to people.
