House fire in Shalu, Central City, fortunately no casualties

A fire broke out in a house on Shatian Road, Shalu District, Taichung City. Fortunately, no one was injured. (provided by the public)

At around 12 noon today, a fire broke out in a residential house on Shatian Road, Shalu District, Taichung City. Upon receiving the report, the Taichung City Fire Department immediately dispatched 11 vehicles and 15 people from the Shalu, Wuqi, Qingshui and Longjing units to rescue the fire. The fire was quickly extinguished, but fortunately there were no casualties. The house was suspected to be occupied by many foreign migrant workers. When the fire broke out, they rushed to escape without even having time to put on their shirts.

At 12:34 noon today, the Taichung City Fire Department received a report that a fire broke out in a residential house in Lane 28, Yonghe Lane, Shatian Road, Shalu District. The reporter stated that he did not know if anyone was trapped in the house. The Shalu, Wuqi, Qingshui and Longjing detachments were immediately dispatched. Wu Zhensong, the captain of the Shalu detachment, led the team to rescue the house.

The fire scene was a building made of bricks on the second floor and covered with iron sheets on the third floor. The fire broke out on the first floor. Firefighters controlled the fire in about 20 minutes. After checking, no one in the house was trapped or injured. The burning area was about 25 square meters. The cause of the fire needs further investigation to clarify.
