On the first day of National Day, duty-free shopping on Hainan’s outlying islands reached 107 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 21.17%

China News Service, Haikou, October 3 (Reporter Wang Ziqian) Haikou Customs disclosed on the 2nd that on the first day of this year’s National Day holiday (October 1), the amount, number of people, and number of duty-free shopping on Hainan’s outlying islands were 107 million yuan, 18,900 person-times, and 83,000 items, respectively, representing year-on-year increases of 21.17%, 13.81%, and 11.24% respectively.

This holiday is the first National Day holiday since the island-wide closure of the Hainan Free Trade Port.
