Penghu County Government ranked first in "Debt Management" and second in "Financial Management" evaluated by the Ministry of Finance

Penghu County Government won the first place in debt management.

The Penghu County Government won first place in the "Debt Management" category and second place in the "Financial Management" category in the "114 Annual Local Government Financial Business Counseling Program Evaluation" conducted by the Ministry of Finance, and its financial management achievements were once again recognized by the central government. The Ministry of Finance held the "115th Annual Local Finance Report" yesterday (10th), which was presided over by Parliamentary Secretary Ruan Qinghua and presented awards and commendations, recognizing the efforts and achievements of the Penghu County Government in implementing fiscal discipline, strengthening debt management, and improving fiscal health.

Lin Jixing, deputy county magistrate of Penghu County, said that "good welfare, reduced debt, and more construction" are County Magistrate Chen Guangfu's persistence and commitment to the development of Penghu and the well-being of the villagers. Chen Guangfu often said that the Penghu County Government should "run the household" for the people. It should not only spend money on the cutting edge, but also lay a good financial foundation for the long-term development of Penghu.

Lin Jixing pointed out that when County Magistrate Chen Guangfu took office, the county treasury's debt exceeded 1.7 billion yuan. By strictly observing financial discipline, implementing debt management, actively increasing revenue and cutting expenditures, and striving for central funds, the county government has gradually improved the county's financial structure while taking into account social welfare and local development, and will achieve the zero debt goal in April 2024.

As of the end of June this year, the Penghu County Government continued to maintain zero debt, demonstrating solid financial management results. In addition, the Penghu County Government has achieved good results in the Ministry of Finance's Local Financial Business Assessment Debt Management Project for three consecutive years (2023 to 2025), showing that the Penghu County Government's efforts in fiscal discipline and debt control have been recognized by the central government.

Lin Jiexing emphasized that in the future, the Penghu County Government will continue to adhere to the principle of "use when it is used, and save when it is provincial", and continue to promote various social welfare and local construction on the premise of maintaining financial stability, so as to maximize the effectiveness of limited financial resources, so that county construction and welfare policies can be steadily and long-term promoted.
