Agricultural and grain production and marketing history, planting and verification area reaches new high! According to statistics from the Agricultural and Food Administration of the Ministry of Agriculture, as of May this year, the planting area for production and sales has reached 12. With an area of 40,000 hectares, rice ranks first in growth. The Ministry of Agriculture promotes three chapters and one Q, including CAS Taiwan's excellent agricultural products, agricultural products with production and sales records (TAP), and organic agricultural products, as well as the QR Code for traceability of Taiwan's agricultural products. Traceability management is adopted so that farmers can use medicine safely. Production and sales records and organic-friendly farming areas have also grown significantly due to policy encouragement.
The verified agricultural and grain production and sales area exceeded 100,000 hectares for the first time since 2024. As of May this year, the verified agricultural and grain production and sales area has reached 124,124 hectares, an increase of more than 13 times from 8,948 hectares in 2015.
Analyzing the production and sales history of agricultural and grain crops in recent years, it is verified that the crops with the fastest growing area are rice, followed by hard corn and sweet potato. The areas are 57,266 hectares, 13,079 hectares and 2,960 hectares respectively. Compared with 2023, they have increased by 15,825 hectares, 2,265 hectares and 1,093 hectares respectively.
Rice farmers are highly willing to join
Huang Zhaoxing, deputy director of the Agri-Food and Food Administration, said that the rice used in school lunches across the country has been using rice with production and marketing records since the 111 school year. Driven by demand, there has been an increase in the willingness of rice farmers to join the verification of production and marketing records. In addition, hard corn is used for feed and the cultivation method is extensive. The farmers' association assists farmers to apply through a simpler group verification method. Sweet potatoes are mostly contracted in recent years, and manufacturers usually require farmers who join the contract to apply for production and sales records.
Organic and friendly planting has also increased
Huang Zhaoxing pointed out that in addition to the increase in the area of agricultural and grain production and sales, the area of organically friendly planting of agricultural and grain crops has also shown a trend of increasing year by year. As of May this year, the area of organically friendly planting has reached 29,355 hectares, an increase of more than four times from 6,784 hectares in 2016.
Huang Zhaoxing said that labels such as production and sales records or organic friendliness are like ID cards for agricultural products, allowing consumers to clearly see information such as the place of origin and grower, and allowing farmers to be more responsible for their products.
