Nominations for induction into the 10th Seoul Hall of Fame are accepted until the end of the year.

The city of Seoul announced on the 12th that candidates for induction into the 10th Seoul Hall of Fame will be recommended until the end of the year.

The Seoul Hall of Fame is a system that honors and honors individuals and organizations that have contributed to the development of Seoul city government and the promotion of citizen happiness.

Starting in 2016, this year marks the 10th anniversary, and 43 cases (34 individuals and 9 organizations) that brought glory to Seoul in various fields such as service, welfare, safety, and culture were inducted.

Selected recipients will be awarded a certificate, and a copper plate relief containing their photo and major achievements will be installed on the wall leading from Exit 4 of City Hall Station on Subway Line 1 to the Citizens' Office.

The city plans to adjust the selection cycle from every year to every other year and strive to discover excellent candidates by accepting Seoul Citizen Award winners as candidates for the award through a personal consent process.

This year, nominations for nomination will be accepted until December 31st. Regardless of field, citizens and organizations that have contributed significantly to creating ‘Seoul, a win-win city that accompanies the weak and an attractive global leading city’ are eligible.

However, as of October 8, 2026, the date of the first announcement, the applicant must be an individual or organization that has continuously resided or had a business in Seoul for more than three years.

Heads of departments belonging to the Seoul Metropolitan Government, heads of autonomous districts, general citizens, and organizations can become recommenders. When citizens recommend a person of merit, they must include the joint signatures of 10 citizens over the age of 19 who are not members of the same household.

Recommendations can be submitted through the Seoul Metropolitan Government website (seoul.go.kr) or by mail to the Seoul Citizens' Cooperation Department.

The selection committee for inductees plans to select the final inductees through written and face-to-face screening of the received candidates.

The announcement of the results is scheduled for February next year, and the Hall of Fame induction ceremony is scheduled for March next year.

Kwak Jong-bin, Director of the Seoul Metropolitan Government's Administrative Bureau, said, "We hope that you will actively recommend hidden contributors around you so that the achievements of citizens and organizations that have devoted a long time to their neighbors and local communities can be widely known." He added, "Through a fair and thorough review, we will select people who serve as examples for Seoul citizens."
