New Taipei City launches 10 pet travel routes, combining natural scenery and friendly stores

September 27 is World Tourism Day. The Animal Protection and Epidemic Prevention Office of the New Taipei City Government has launched 10 major pet travel routes, including mountains, forests, coasts, riverbanks and urban attractions. It integrates 671 pet-friendly stores in the city, including restaurants, cafes, specialty shops and cultural and creative centers, and creates a friendly store recommendation map. Owners can arrange half-day or one-day tours according to their fur babies' physical strength and preferences, so that they can easily travel around New Taipei.

Animal Welfare Director Yang Shufang pointed out that pet-friendly stores in New Taipei City cover catering, accommodation, general retail, tourist attractions and other spaces where pets can travel together. Store locations, types and pet entry regulations are organized on an online map to facilitate owners to check in advance. Some stores allow pets to land, while others require the use of strollers or out-of-door cages. Owners can choose the right place according to the needs of their fur babies, so as to avoid the trouble of discovering inaccessibility only when they arrive on site.

In addition, the official website of the New Taipei Animal Protection Office announced the top 10 pet travel routes. Among the 20 originally planned routes, the recommended route was selected by public voting last year. Among them, the "Tsui Mangrove and Old Street Tour" received the highest votes. It combines natural landscape, historical culture and riverside scenery, from walking in the mangroves, playing in Tamsui Old Street to the sunset on the riverbank, making it suitable for arranging a leisurely one-day trip.

Fur babies who like mountains and forests can challenge "Xindian Hemei Mountain", "Wulai Tonghou Mountain" and "Tanlan Ancient Trail" to feel the natural atmosphere of forests and trails; enjoy the comfort of cycling and riding in the wind, you can arrange "Bali Left Bank"; if you want to take a small city trip, there are also routes such as "Mie Chong Air Force Village".

Fur babies who love the sea should not miss the North Coast. Starting from the "White Sand Bay Wave Chasing Tour", you can enjoy natural landscapes such as Shimen Cave and Linshan Nose along the way, then go to Baisha Bay to enjoy the sea breeze and play in the sand. You can also enjoy the unique coastal scenery of New Taipei through "Yeliu Coast", "Zhongjiao Bay Beach" and "Nanya Strange Rock".

The Animal Welfare Department stated that pet-friendly cities not only increase the number of “places where pets can go”, but more importantly allow pet owners to find clear and practical information before departure. Currently, we are continuing to promote pet-friendly store surveys and grading evaluations, and plan to select 100 gold medal stores. In the future, we will use more recognizable friendly labels and travel guides to help pet owners find friendly spaces that better meet their needs.
