You who chase the light｜Where the heroes fell, the power of protection grew up
CCTV Tianjin News on October 2 (Reporter Chu Fuqing) When the first ray of morning light passed over the coast of the Bohai Sea, the fireworks in Tianjin started as usual. Behind every peaceful day, there is a dark blue figure who devotes his life to his mission and writes his loyalty with his blood.
Connected by blood, deep comrades-in-arms, relay between master and apprentice... As time goes by, heroes are never far away. Looking across the state, there are thousands of them who write the four words "better life" into the world one stroke at a time. Those who chase the light are following their light.
Follow the light of our fathers
For Zhang Peng of the Science and Technology Information Detachment of the Binhai Branch of the Public Security Bureau, the Tibetan Blue belief is a legacy engraved in his bones. On January 10, 2006, his father Zhang Zhibang, the former deputy detachment leader of the Criminal Investigation Detachment of the Tanggu Branch of the Public Security Bureau, died heroically while performing an arrest mission. In the same year, he was posthumously recognized as a revolutionary martyr. That year, Zhang Peng was 18 years old.
In the sudden farewell, he understood his father's perseverance in devoting his life to the country, and turned his grief into the strength to rush forward: after the college entrance examination, he resolutely applied for the public security academy. In 2011, he graduated from the investigation major of Shandong Police College and put on the navy blue police uniform that his father had loved all his life. After more than ten years as a police officer, my position has changed several times, but my original intention has not changed. In the background of science and technology information technology, he and his colleagues carried out patrols throughout the entire jurisdiction, with a total distance of nearly 10,000 kilometers; he took the initiative to tackle technical problems, empowered actual combat with professionalism, and protected safety with technology.
Once you join the police, you will chase glory all your life. Dai Juan, deputy leader of the business guidance and coordination detachment of the Population Management Corps of the Municipal Public Security Bureau, has always followed in the footsteps of his father Dai Chengjiang. During his lifetime, my father was a policeman of the Traffic Management and Peace Detachment. He guarded the three-foot-square police station in all weathers for 23 years. Even though he was terminally ill, he still endured the pain and devoted himself to his duties until he bid farewell to his beloved post forever in 1994.
"When my father talks about work, there is always light in his eyes." This light illuminated Dai Juan's journey to become a police officer. In 2002, she inherited her father's ambition and became a community police officer. She took root on the front lines, solved worries with warmth, helped people in need, and accompanied the lonely elderly, becoming a "caring person" trusted by the masses. Having been a police officer for more than 20 years, whenever she encounters a problem, she always looks back to her father's original aspirations and lets that light continue to illuminate the way forward.
Walk with the light of your comrades
Time tempers the police soul, and years bear witness to the original intention. The friendship between comrades is deep and the firepower is long-lasting. Those memories of fighting side by side with heroes and models have now turned into a vigorous force to move forward.
Qiao Liang, a former police officer from the Ruijing Police Station of the Beichen Public Security Bureau, is a second-level hero model in the national public security system. He has spent his entire life on the front line protecting the people. Song Jiaqiang, director of Jiarongli Police Station of the Beichen Branch of the Public Security Bureau, has always cherished the memory of fighting side by side with Qiao Liang: fighting in the same group, staying with each other day and night, they were colleagues, comrades-in-arms, and even more cherished brothers.
In Song Jiaqiang's memory, Qiao Liang was diligent and down-to-earth, never slacking off in the face of complicated grassroots police work, and always being enthusiastic and patient with the masses. This person has passed away, but the light has never been extinguished. Now, as the director, Song Jiaqiang has a heavy responsibility on his shoulders. He leads by example and takes the lead in setting an example, leading all the civilian auxiliary police officers in the department to deepen grassroots governance, strengthen safety construction, and optimize services for the people.
Song Jiaqiang turned his deep remembrance of his comrades into fulfilling his duties day after day - walking with the light of his comrades is the best commemoration.
The light relay of the master
The original intention is like a rock, and the fire will last forever. In the Binhai Branch of the Public Security Bureau, the spirit of the late Xu Zhe, a national second-level hero in the public security system, has always inspired and nourished the grassroots police.
Xu Zhe was a "sharp knife" on the criminal investigation front during his lifetime. "If the case is not solved, we are in debt to the people!" This is a true portrayal of his life as a police officer. After being diagnosed with late-stage gastric cancer, in the last 519 days of his life, he endured the pain and stayed at his job until he died. In 2024, 43 years of Zanglan’s life will be frozen, and the police number 580527 will be permanently sealed.
Tong Haichen, captain of the petition brigade of the Supervisory Letter Detachment, fought side by side with Xu Zhe when he first became a police officer. As a master, Xu Zhe taught Tong Haichen through words and deeds, and not only taught him the skills to solve crimes, but also conveyed the sincere feelings that "criminals should not only solve crimes, but also warm their hearts and serve the people."
Today, Tong Haichen integrates Master's loyalty and love into his daily life, and strives to protect the safety and stability of his jurisdiction - taking over that beam of light means that the spirit of heroes will never end.
Where the heroes fell, the power of protection grew. In a land of 9.6 million square kilometers, countless public security heroes wrote "peace" into the lights of thousands of homes with their blood, leaving "a good life" to future generations. Mountains and rivers are safe because there are people who have pledged their lives to them; thousands of families are at peace because there are people who are carrying heavy loads and moving forward. Those who chase the light will eventually be clothed with light - the spirit of heroes and martyrs is following in the footsteps of those who come after them, and continues to live on.
