Christian Thielemann leads the Berlin Staatsoper Orchestra on its first visit to Taiwan, performing German and Austrian classics in Taipei and Kaohsiung in November

[Reporter Dong Baiting/Taipei Report] Christian Thielemann, the conductor who has been praised by the Guardian as the authoritative German-Austrian romantic school, will lead the Berlin State Opera Orchestra (Staatskapelle Berlin), which has a history of more than 450 years, to visit Taiwan for the first time in November this year, joining hands with piano master Rudolf Buchbinder and soprano Camilla Nylund. Nylund), performed at the National Concert Hall in Taipei on November 21st and 22nd, and made his first trip south to the Weiwuying Concert Hall in Kaohsiung on November 24th, presenting two sets of German and Austrian classics.

Since its founding in 1570, the Berlin Staatsoper Orchestra has experienced masters such as Richard Strauss, Furtwangler and Barenboin, and has accumulated a profound foundation. The current music director Thielemann studied with Karajan in his early years and is well versed in the traditions of Wagner and Strauss. He has also conducted the Vienna New Year Concert twice.

The opening venue in Taipei on November 21st featured the "German-Austrian Romantic Night", with Buchbinder interpreting Mozart's "Piano Concerto No. 21 in C Major" in the first half, and Bruckner's Symphony No. 4 "Romance" in the second half. The Taipei venue on November 22nd and the Kaohsiung venue on the 24th focused on Richard Strauss. The first half Nylund sang "The Last Four Songs" in the first half, and in the second half, the longest symphonic poem "Alpine Symphony" was performed, which mobilized nearly 150 people. 16 French horns, wind chimes, thunder machines and cowbells were used to show shocking sounds in Taipei's Shoebox Concert Hall and Kaohsiung Weiwuying Vineyard Concert Hall.

The organizer Niu Er Art stated that tickets for this tour will be available for priority pre-order from 12 noon on September 11 to 12 noon on September 14 for Yushan cardholders, MNA gold and silver card members, Wanhai employees and "2026 Le Ju Nan" members. They will be fully sold on the MNA ticketing website at 12 noon on September 16. A 30% discount will be provided in the designated 1+1 ticket area for youth, so music fans can seize the opportunity to purchase tickets early.
