The global economy is at a stage of profound changes: trade wars are escalating, protectionism and unfair competition are being widely used, said Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

Countries are reviewing industrial, technological and logistics chains, developing new financial and investment instruments, and strengthening partnerships between states.

TASHKENT, June 17 - RIA Novosti. The global economy is at a stage of profound changes: trade wars are escalating, protectionism and unfair competition are being widely used, said Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

“Today the world economy is at the stage of profound changes. Turbulence is intensifying, trade wars are intensifying, protectionism and unfair competition are being widely used. All this poses systemic challenges for us, the solution of which determines whether we can ensure sustainable development of national economies and achieve an improvement in the quality of life of the citizens of our countries,” Mishustin said, speaking on Wednesday at the plenary meeting of the Tashkent International Investment Forum.

He added that this is why countries are reviewing industrial, technological and logistics chains, developing new financial and investment instruments, and strengthening partnerships between states.

“Our countries are successfully implementing this approach,” added the head of the Russian government.

Mishustin arrived in Uzbekistan the day before for a two-day visit. On Tuesday, he met with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Prime Minister of the Republic Abdulla Aripov and Chief of Staff of the President of Uzbekistan Saida Mirziyoyeva.
