From June 22 to 26, the 4th China International Supply Chain Promotion Expo (Chain Expo) was held in Beijing, with 676 companies and institutions from 85 countries, regions and international organizations participating.
In this world's first national-level exhibition with the theme of supply chain, all parties witnessed the dual drive of digital intelligence and green transformation to promote the upgrading of the supply chain, and looked forward to China's certainty of gathering new development momentum to help build a "win-win chain" that benefits the world economy.
"Digital Intelligence Chain": Efficiently Promote Innovation Cooperation
NVIDIA exhibited industrial quadruped robots used in disaster relief and other scenarios, Medtronic's spinal surgery navigation and positioning system assists in more accurate surgical operations, and Lens Technology exhibited Xiaowei robots that handed freshly made coffee to the audience... Different from the past demonstrations of robot movement coordination, this year's Chain Expo focuses more on allowing the audience to immerse themselves in the practicality of robots in different real-life scenarios. Industry insiders believe that embodied intelligence is becoming a new hot spot in the development of the artificial intelligence (AI) industry.
At the same time, the accuracy of AI products continues to improve. Apple joins hands with three Chinese suppliers to participate in the exhibition: Zhejiang Sunny Optical's AI visual inspection can identify lens defects equivalent to a few tenths of the diameter of a hair; AAC Technology's AI adjusts the production line process in real time, with continuous breakthroughs in yield rate; Jiangsu Kerian's self-developed AI smart production line can complete micron-level precision assembly.
The International Licensing Trade Workers Association is the “new friend” of this Chain Expo. With the exhibition theme of "Building a Bridge of Integration", the association is committed to building a responsible intellectual property operation ecosystem, breaking down the barriers between creativity and market, culture and industry of different economies, and safeguarding technological innovation. Wang Ningling, chairman of the association, believes that a sound intellectual property system makes innovation cooperation more credible, efficient and sustainable, and that the Chain Expo is helping to build a more innovative, resilient, inclusive and trustworthy global supply chain ecosystem.
John Denton, Secretary-General of the International Chamber of Commerce, believes that AI will significantly improve the efficiency and predictability of supply chains, help build a more resilient global production and supply chain, and promote inclusive international trade.
This Chain Expo is the first year of the Digital Intelligence Chain Expo. "China is good at using digital intelligence technology to build efficient and stable supply chains. In the international context of geopolitical instability and rising inflation, China's supply chain has become a stable anchor for international economic and trade cooperation with its certainty and reliability." Vicente Roqueni, executive chairman of the China Chamber of Commerce in Mexico, told reporters.
"Green Chain": Helping the harmonious development of man and nature
From sustainable energy and materials in the upstream of the supply chain to green factories in the midstream, from environmentally friendly logistics in the downstream to the reverse supply chain to realize environmentally friendly waste recycling, the Chain Expo presents the "green power" of China's entire supply chain.
At the Siemens booth, there are carbon footprint ecological solutions that enable accurate quantification of product-level carbon footprints and cross-border supply chain carbon data sharing, as well as a battery passport platform launched based on full-link carbon data management capabilities to help companies continue to improve management efficiency. "Frontier technology will become an accelerator of energy transformation." According to John Grimes, chairman of the Asia-Pacific Renewable Energy Council, the accelerated integration of digital intelligence and greening will promote profound changes in the global energy pattern.
For Tesla, the "old friend" of the Chain Expo, batteries are not disposable parts. Their full life cycle covers the resource journey of source, use, recycling and reuse. Tesla insists on recycling 100% of used batteries. "The reverse supply chain is not the 'last mile', but the 'next cycle' of green manufacturing." Tesla Global Vice President Tao Lin told reporters.
"The industry ecology is complete and the economies of scale are significant," said Pan Helin, a member of the Information and Communication Economy Expert Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, commenting on China's green supply chain. "The constantly developing green industry is not only an important part of China's new productive forces, but also an international public good that serves the development of global green ecology."
"Win-win Chain": Deepening China's Common Development
"We cannot do without China." Overseas exhibitors unanimously expressed their determination to deepen China's supply chain.
Chinese companies such as Nvidia and Galaxy General Motors jointly develop robots, Qualcomm and ZTE jointly build an end-to-end 6G prototype system, Intel and Dongfeng Motors cooperate to develop plug-in computing power centers... In the artificial intelligence zone established for the first time at the Chain Expo, Chinese and foreign companies tacitly performed a "symphony" of close cooperation in the supply chain.
Airbus and more than ten Chinese partners participated in the exhibition. From engineering design, core parts manufacturing, to aircraft final assembly and retired aircraft recycling, the industrial layout covering the entire life cycle of aircraft built over more than 40 years in China has become a vivid footnote to this aviation giant's long-term commitment to China. Airbus Vice President of Purchasing in China Hesmer (foreign name: Mark Heishman) told reporters that China's supply chain has outstanding performance in terms of cost competitiveness, delivery reliability and product quality, and occupies an irreplaceable and important position in Airbus's global supply chain map.
Panasonic, which has participated in the exhibition for three consecutive years, brings solutions for the entire industry chain of health and elderly care. Tetsuya Nakamichi, President and CEO of Panasonic Excellence Operations China Northeast Asia Company, said: “If we don’t take root in China and make full use of China’s supply chain, we won’t be able to succeed in the global market.”
The "2026 Global Supply Chain Promotion Report" released at the Chain Expo pointed out that with current high tariff barriers and frequent trade disputes, the world has entered a new period of turbulence and change. Only by strengthening the global supply chain can we effectively respond to risk challenges, enhance innovation capabilities, build a more fair and reasonable global supply chain governance system, and help the world economy maintain resilient growth.
The construction of global supply chain is the deep integration of innovation chain, industrial chain, capital chain and talent chain, and it is also the smooth connection of trust chain. Ma Jie, deputy consul general of the Australian Consulate General in Shanghai, said: "At the Chain Expo, I felt China's goodwill for open cooperation."
