Here, an off-highway wide-body dump truck rolls off the production line every 12 minutes and goes to mining and engineering construction sites around the world. From high-end equipment manufacturing to key material breakthroughs, from traditional industry upgrades to emerging track layouts, the picture of manufacturing in Xi'an is accelerating from here.
"In 2025, our sales of new energy vehicles will account for more than 65%. Our products have been exported to more than 50 countries in Europe, Africa and other places." Chen Chaohua, deputy chief engineer of Shaanxi Tongli Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., said that the company's products are off-highway wide-body dump trucks, mining vehicles and off-highway special transportation equipment required for various types of mining and large-scale engineering logistics transportation.
Tongli Heavy Industry actively introduces high-end equipment such as industrial robots to improve manufacturing capabilities and product quality. Its manufacturing base has an annual production capacity of 15,500 off-highway vehicles. Chen Chaohua said that from fuel products, new energy products to driverless products, every step of the company's development relies on the support of Shaanxi's local industrial chain. "The current matching rate in the province is about 40%."
It is understood that UHV bushings need to carry ultra-high voltages and ultra-large currents for a long time, while taking into account the multiple functions of flow, insulation, and mechanical support. They are the core precision equipment of electric power. As a national-level specialized and special "little giant" enterprise, Xi'an Xidian High-voltage Bushing Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as: Xidian Bushing) is the only domestic enterprise with R&D, manufacturing and engineering application performance of full-voltage bushings of AC 2000kV, DC ±1100kV and below.
"Our development has benefited from the rapid development of the Northwest Power Grid, and is also inseparable from local policy support for equipment manufacturing enterprises. The province's strong university resources also provide strong technical support for local manufacturing enterprises." Chen Xiaodong, deputy general manager of Xi'an Xidian High Voltage Bushing Co., Ltd., said that the company's products have been used in a number of national key power transmission projects and exported to more than 20 countries.
Walking into the production workshop of Xi'an Taijin Xinneng Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as: Taijin Xinneng), a titanium cathode roller with a diameter of 3.6 meters is undergoing precise inspection. "We have been using it for decades to increase the accuracy of the cathode roller from the initial level 8 to level 12." Jia Bo, deputy general manager of Xi'an Taijin Xinneng Technology Co., Ltd., said that the higher the accuracy, the thinner the copper foil produced. This year, the company's independently developed complete set of electrolytic copper foil equipment with the world's largest size was successfully put into use, stably achieving mass production of 4.5 micron ultra-thin lithium battery copper foil.
As a key core equipment supplier in the lithium battery and electronic circuit copper foil industry chain, Taijin New Energy is one of the few companies in the world that can provide overall solutions for the full-process production line of ultra-thin lithium battery copper foil and electronic circuit copper foil. Its multiple core equipment ranks first in the domestic market share.
It is reported that Xi'an's new materials industry has the characteristics of strong R&D and innovation capabilities, leading technological level, and obvious advantages of leading enterprises. In recent years, the scale of the industry has continued to grow. In 2026, the city issued the "Xi'an Implementation Plan to Promote the High-Quality Development of the New Materials Industry" and its supporting supporting policies, and the industrial development accelerated significantly. In the first half of the year, the output value of designated enterprises in Xi'an's new materials industry reached 23 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 25.3%, showing strong growth vitality.
