Actor transformation is innocent... Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Chastain's new film released

New films showing different sides of Hollywood actors such as Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, and Jessica Chastain will be released one after another this month.

'Scrooge: A Christmas Carol' starring Johnny Depp and 'Mother Mary' starring Anne Hathaway will be released side by side on the 11th.

'Scrooge: A Christmas Carol' is the story of Scrooge, a terrible miser, encountering ghosts the night before Christmas. It is based on Charles Dickens' novel 'A Christmas Carol', which has been transformed into several works including movies, animations, and musicals.

Depp is considered a 'master of transformation' who has created unique characters with different visuals and acting in each work, such as pirate Captain Jack Sparrow in the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' movie series, Willy Wonka in 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' (2005), and Edward Scissor in 'Edward Scissorhands' (1990). He gained worldwide popularity by playing the humorous and sly Jack Sparrow with smokey makeup and a unique slurred speech.

Depp attempted to transform into the role of Scrooge this time. He portrays Scrooge, an eccentric and lonely salty worrier, with graying hair and a grumpy expression.

Depp foreshadowed the new Scrooge, saying, "When playing Scrooge, I wanted to find a different approach than just being a miserable and greedy old man. No one is born to make others angry from the beginning. There are deep messages in the movie, and the meaning is also very profound. I didn't want to miss the humor in it."

Actors Ian McKellen of the 'Lord of the Rings' series and Rupert Grint of the 'Harry Potter' series also participated in the movie. Directed by Ty West, director of the horror film 'Pearl' (2022).

'Mother Mary' is the story of Mother Mary, a pop star who is about to return to the stage, and visits her friend, designer Sam, whom she abandoned a long time ago, to find a dress.

This is another new work by Hathaway, who has been more active than anyone else this year with 'The Devil Wears Prada 2', 'Odyssey', 'Last Day on Oak Street', and 'Verity'.

Hathaway plays the role of Mother Mary, a superstar who attracts attention from all over the world. He went blonde and underwent rigorous dance training for this role.

He is also familiar with documentaries and music of real pop stars, and when filming the concert scene, he is said to have performed a performance reminiscent of a real performance in front of 400 extras. Following roles such as a queen who defends her throne lonely while missing her husband ('Odyssey') and a best-selling author who cannot walk after an accident ('Varity'), expectations are high for the pop star she will portray.

David Lowery, director of 'Ghost Story' (2017) and 'Green Knight' (2021), wrote and directed the film.

‘Infinite Challenge’ PD Kim Tae-ho is distributed by TEO, the production company, and Waterhole Company.

Jessica Chastain, who won the 94th Academy Award for Best Actress in 2022, returns to the horror film 'Other Mommy'.

'Other Mommy' is a story about a young girl encountering an unidentified being who looks exactly like her mother inside her home.

Chastain attempted to play dual roles as a mother and an unknown figure. He brings fear to the audience by going back and forth between warmth and eerieness.

British director Rob Savich, who has mainly made horror films such as 'Boogeyman' (2023), took the lead.

The movie opens on the 18th.
